Style Guide
A pattern library showcases the design system, which is documentation on the core values, principles, and best practices that helps guide a team on building great products.
When I create designs, I refer to and update the style guide. This is important because it ensures:
- New designs are consistent with the rest of the visual language, which strengthens the brand and makes it easier for users to identify and engage with us
- Components (the mockup and associated code) are frequently updated so that designers and developers can reference the most up-to-date change, work more effectively, and reach their goals quickly
- When creating new products with a path that is ambiguous, the library can serve as a guideline and reminder on how to explore new ideas within the realm of our core values of who we are and what we want our story to be
