Duration: 2 day hackathon
Team: 3 Designers, 1 Developer
Skills: UI Design, UX Design, Graphic Design, Visual Design
My Role: UI/UX Designer
Challenge: To help elect Hillary Clinton as the next President of the United States by creating innovative new tools to identify and reach voters.
Solution: To create an app that will attract millennials to Hillary Clinton's brand.
End Product: Designed a photo-sharing app with Hillary filters that lets users upload their photos stamped with #imwithher and is easily shareable on social media.

The Design Process
Why:
Our team built a Snapchat-like app to target millennials. Since 86% of Snapchat users are under the age of 34, it signifies that young people are interested in photo-sharing features*. We hope that our filters can be implemented into Snapchat's system, which can increase awareness and engagement.
Competitive Analysis:
We downloaded similar apps related to the 2016 presidential election and found that most of the filters did not look real. We wanted our app to appear as if people are really taking a photo with Hillary. The realer it looks, the better, since it feels more personable. The key to gaining a competitive edge in the election is the ability to connect with people.
Reflection:
Although we did not place, we received a lot of smiles and compliments on our app and how fun it looked. I learned how to work directly with a developer and designers over a period of 2 days. I also learned how to be resourceful when I ran into moments where I didn't know how to do something.
